Our story

We are Allison and Sabrina Adam, sisters from Lakefield, Ontario. The first thing you need to know about us is that we love to have FUN. The original goal behind ColourMe was to bring back human conversation, connection, and authenticity. We wanted people to be curious, take risks, and be bold.

In the summer of 2024, we self-converted an old Sprinter Van into a fully liveable camper and drove across North America. We had a plan: launch a brand and become famous online during the road trip. The problem was that we had too many ideas and no clear direction - we literally didn’t even know where we were going to sleep next! Being sweaty and mad at each other in the Florida July heat with no AC, getting lost, and going weeks without proper showers or a clean bathroom did not exactly create the best environment for thinking clearly... clearly.

That’s when we decided to try just one thing. Our first idea - let’s make a new phone number and post stickers of it wherever we go and see who calls us. It will say “What’s Your Favourite Colour? Call us! 855-328-2657 (or 855-FAV-COLR)”. 

Our first call comes in... OMG SOMEONE IS CALLING US! Allison answers:

- Allison: “This is Allison, what’s your favourite colour?”
- Caller: “Uhh... blue!”
- Allison: “Nice! why is that”
- Caller: “I don’t know... because it looks nice?”
- Allison: “...Cool!”

...failed. That was sooo awkward! Why weren’t we prepared for this! We wanted to use people’s favourite colours to start conversations, but we couldn’t even hold one ourselves! So, with zero cell service and negative brain power, it ended there. 

“But you had such a good idea and so much potential!” 

I know. 
We know. 
You wouldn’t understand. 
It just didn’t work.

EXCUSES! For two years, it lived in our heads as a dream, a thought, and idea. Eventually, we realized it was never really about the colours themselves. It was about random interactions with strangers on the street, the conversations with old friends and family, the stories we shared, and peeing ourselves laughing before bed out of exhaustion (and because we’re hilarious, obviously).

Sometimes just being able to think differently, be creative, be weird, and not care too much about what people think is the best way to live. That’s why ColourMe was re-born. Let’s remove our preconceptions on how life should be lived and get back to who we were before the world told us who to be. 

So here we are, ready to give it another go and see where it takes us!
